Re: quality entry

Andrew Galuski
‎Bob,
If you set the flag correctly in the configuration setup screen then a QA sample is automatically logged for each serial number‎ in a P/O receipt or W/O Receipt if a product specification exists. Have you tried this flag? This eliminates creating samples for each serial# as the system does it for you.  There already exists a link from Sample Entry back to the QA Sample page without using main menu.  I'm an including pictures of these options/links.

Gilberto and Exson,

Thank you for your help.

After a lot of checking of the database, we found problems with the
inventory counts.

Doing a lot manually, we tend to fall behind in use of webERP.  Mistakes
have been made in data entry and corrections needed to be made so that
proper shipments and accompanying paperwork could be generated.
Unfortunately, some of the necessary corrections are not facilitated by
proper webERP functions, i.e. we had to edit tables using phpmyadmin.  Such
has created errors in the inventory counts.  Different scripts handle
inventory counts differently.

We are investigating writing an inventory consistency script that would
correct those errors that can be corrected, e.g. serial/lot/batch inventory
that have conflicting values in the locstock table, the stockserialitems and
the stockserialmoves, and flag items that need to be reviewed.

I have attached the output from phpinfo(). phpinfo.html

We are very excited over the new QA module.  It shows great promise.

The batch/lot sampling capability is good for batch/lot items, but is very
difficult to use for serial numbered items.

In our case, we have circuit boards fabricated by a sub-tier manufacturer
that are individually serial numbered.  We receive them in lots/batches and
then perform 100% inspection.  We would like to keep the inspection data by
serial number.  As we understand the QA system, each serial number is new
lot/batch.  The data entry involves backing in and out of a number of
screens and even for a small number parts becomes burdensome.

The current sequence is:
1) Select QA Samples
2) Enter Specification, enter serial number as lot
3) Press enter information button, a new sample is created
4) Press Sample number to enter QA test data
5) Once test data is entered, press Enter Information button
6) The QA test data entry screen is repainted.  One then must press Main
Menu to get to 1 again.

There needs to be an option to return to the Select QA Samples screen
directly, retaining the Specification entry.

We will work on adding this capability in a fashion compatible with webERP
usage.

hi.
thanks for your phpinfo.
i see that your environment use previus apache 2.0.xx.
if possible for better performance use apache 2.2 and better apache 2.4
there are many best resources. php 5.4.x is ok.  good use of mysqlnd (mysql
native driver) in this php version.
IMHO weberp may solve this conflict values for serial, lot, batch on
locstock using constraints (others than only Primary key, Foreign key,
Index) and triggers and stored procedures that are powerfull resources to
enforce rules on our mysql database and main important thing is "no-code"
inside php application.
There are many tools opensource or no that helps Database designers
regards!

The fix is in the trunk. Maybe it just did not make to installation.

I just uploaded the manual in pdf and epub... I just printed to PDF from
the web-pages combined and uploaded.
There may be a better way - let me know or send me if there is a better way.
The manual is now 233 pages.
Some of it is quite old and probably obsolete though as the system has
evolved and the documentation has not kept pace. However, much better
than nothing.

Hi,

Thanks Phil for your work.

About a better way to create a pdf and a ePub from the Manual:

If the Manual is ONE xHTML page, we can use LibreOffice (or any ofimatic
software that use ODT file format) to create a PDF and a ePub file in one
step (including a linked-content and a linked-index). The problem: How
convenient is to have the current manual on a page instead of several?
(download issues).
Notes:
* For PDF: in LibreOffice, the direct export to pdf button.
* For ePub: LibreOffice eLaix extension (
http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/elaix).
* The ODT file format is very similar to an ePub file. The ePub is a XHTML
or DTBook (format similar to HTML). On both, the file is a zipped website.

Suggestions to update the manual:

I propose to reorganize the manual in chapters, divisions and sections
equivalent of the MainMenuLinksArray.php organization. I explain myself:

* 1 level (h1): $ModuleList[...] (links in "MainMenuDiv" division) -->
chapters (e.g. Sales; Receivables; Purchases; Payables; Manufacturing;
Inventory; General Ledger; Petty Cash; Asset Manager; Setup; Utilities) +
special chapters like Introduction, Requirements, Getting started and
"Developers chapters" (multilanguage, EDI, foundations, structure, coding
conventions, ..., Contributors - Acknowledgements).
* 2 level (h2): menu groups (groups of links in "SubMenuDiv" division:
Transactions, Inquiries and Reports, and Maintenance --> divisions (e.g.
Transactions, Inquiries and Reports, and Maintenance).
* 3 level (h3): script level --> a section for each MAIN script (a script
directly called by MainMenuLinksArray.php).

In this way, every time a script is modified, it should be easy to update
the section of the script (could we use a marker of "need to update" as the
translation of scripts?).

Best regards, Rafael.
